Multi-floor commercial mall in Eastleigh, Nairobi — Kossy's first commercial-scale EPS project, where she worked as part of a wider structural team, contributed to the execution of the EPS flat slab system, and provided hands-on after-sales technical guidance to installation crews.

BBS Mall in Eastleigh is where Kossy first operated at commercial EPS scale — working as part of a wider structural team under the General Manager at the time. The project was a genuine collaboration: engineers, installation crews, and technical leads working together across a multi-storey floor plate. Kossy was embedded in that team, contributing to the execution of the EPS flat slab system and taking on the after-sales technical role — working alongside the installation crews to ensure panels were laid correctly and the floor slab logic was understood and applied in the field.

The Challenge

A multi-floor commercial slab in Eastleigh must carry significant live loads — retail footfall, goods movement, dynamic crowd loads — while managing construction logistics across a constrained urban site with active streets on all sides. Getting the EPS panel layout and slab detailing wrong at this scale has compounding consequences across every floor plate above.

Our Intervention

Working within the structural team, Kossy contributed to the coordination of the EPS void-former flat slab system and provided hands-on technical guidance during installation — translating engineering intent into correct field practice alongside the crews doing the work. The after-sales service role meant she was accountable for how the system was understood on the ground, not just specified on paper.

Executive Result

"BBS Mall is a formative project in Kossy's career — the commercial-scale proof that EPS slab technology works under real urban pressure, and the project where she built the technical depth she now leads with. She later took over as General Manager from the same role she once reported to."
